Addiction

I never thought that I would be one of "those" people. You hear about it all the time, but you never picture yourself in that situation. All it took was one time, and I can't stop. Everyone told me to do it, and at first I resisted, but the peer pressure was just too strong. I don't know what I am going to do. It is getting hard to hide the addiction from Scott and the kids. Actually, it was Scott who pressured me into doing it in the first place. He said it would be fun to do it together. They say that admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Well, here I go:

Hi, my name is Shelley, and I am addicted to Guitar Hero.

Oh. My. Gosh. Why can I not stop playing?! Why is watching colored dots come toward you and pressing buttons so freaking fun?! I have never been a video game person (well, okay, maybe when Nintendo first came out and Summer, Lisa, and I would stay up all night long playing Super Mario Brothers and Contra). But every free minute I have, I am wailing on my guitar! Macey and Heidi love it too, so we let them play 30 minutes each day. But when the kids go to bed, Scott and I stay up so late playing this ridiculous but fabulous game until our hands cramp up. I beat medium level a couple of days ago, so now it's on to hard level!

Well, the twins are sleeping, I gotta go feed my addiction!

Odds and Ends

I hope everyone has had a good week! We are finally getting over the cold/flu. Heidi had it last week and had a fever of 104.5 for 2 days, and then the twins are getting over their coughs and colds now, so hopefully everyone can be well for a while.

So, I finally cut my hair. I have been wanting to do it for a while, but I was scared. I finally did it, and thank you, thank you, thank you Melissa for doing such an awesome job!

Since the twins are starting to sit up now, I got a shopping cart cover to take them grocery shopping with. They both sat in it, and it was so cute! It took me about 10 minutes longer than it normally would have to shop because everyone wanted to stop and see them.

I was looking back through some old pictures and I came across this ultrasound picture from when I was pregnant with the twins. It was taken at 13 weeks, and it is co cute because they are right next to each other and you can see their arms and their little faces starting to form. TA and TB stand for twin A (Ryan) and twin B (Jenna).

And I had to include these gems. The first one is Ryan doing what I call his "little old man face". He sucks on his upper and lower lips at the same time. The second picture shows how happy and adorable Jenna is when she wakes up in the morning.

Well, Macey and Heidi and I are going to make cookies now (I'm a sucker for cookies). They are the best little helpers a mommy could ask for! I love those little girls so much.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my friends and family! I love you all so much. I absolutely love my life right now, I wouldn't change a thing. I have the 4 best kids on the planet, and the sweetest, most hard-working, helpful, caring, and SEXY husband a girl could ask for! And look at what he got me for Valentine's Day!!

Photobucket

I love you so much Scott! Happy Valentine's Day babe. We are taking the kids to Build-A-Bear today so they can make little Valentine bears for themselves, and then we are going to gymnastics. We have a busy day!

On a different note, I officially withdrew myself from nursing school yesterday.:( I'm sad about it, but we have so many important changes coming up, that it just wasn't good timing (more details to come about that stuff). I put myself back on the waiting list, so hopefully by the time I get placed again, things will have calmed down around here and it will work out better for us.

I hope you all have a great day, and give your man/woman some lovin' today!

Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Photobucket

Wow! Six months old. Where did the time go? These little angels are growing so fast. Jenna is almost sitting up all by herself, and they are both using sippy cups already. We love these little pumpkins! Macey and Heidi are amazing big sisters. Ryan and Jenna are sure lucky to have them.

Also, Ryan graduated from his DOC band (helmet), and he is so happy! Jenna is happy too, since she frequently gets headbutted while they are sleeping at night because they will only sleep if they are right next to each other in the crib.

Happy 1/2 Birthday Ryan and Jenna! And Happy Helmet Graduation Ryan!

One Year Ago Today

I forgot to add this to my last post! One year ago today I heard 2 words that would change my life forever - "It's twins!" I thought I was going to pass out when I saw those two beautiful heartbeats flickering away on that tv screen. Of course Scott was on shift, so I called him and said, "You better sit down." The last year has been a whirlwind of emotions, but I feel so lucky and blessed to be the mommy of these 2 precious angels. I love you Ryan and Jenna!

Here was our first ultrasound:

We're still alive

Sorry I haven't updated you all, things in a house of 6 are always crazy! Everyone is doing really good. Heidi has pretty much fully recovered from her surgery, she just can't do her gymnastics for a couple more weeks. Other than that and the incision on her tummy, you would never know that she had just had surgery. Thanks again to all you who have kept her in your thoughts and prayers.

This past Saturday Scott and I were able to go on a much deserved date. We haven't been out for quite a while, as I'm sure you can understand. For those of you that know us well, we are avid UFC fans. Okay, mostly me, but Scott enjoys watching the fights, too. So on Saturday we went to Famous Sam's and watched the fights. We had a great time, and it was nice to not have to feed a baby or change a diaper. And the fights were great! War Frank Mir! One of my goals is to make it to a UFC event and sit as close to the action as I can. I just love the sport. Anyway, I had to take this picture to capture the moment, because who knows when we will get to do that again. Thanks for babysitting Mom!

Last night Macey, Heidi, and I had a spa night. It was so fun. We did manicures, pedicures, massages, and hair. I love having little girls! We put Macey's hair in sponge rollers, and this morning her hair looked beautiful. I love doing these kinds of things with my kids. I want them to have awesome memories of their childhood.

My life just got a whole lot easier, because Ryan is HOLDING HIS OWN BOTTLE!! It is so nice, I just lay him in his Boppy, hand him his bottle, and then sit next to him and feed Jenna. I love that they are getting bigger and more capable, but I miss my teeny tiny premies, too.

And last but not least, today is Super Tuesday, so don't forget to vote! Go Ron Paul!

Oh wait, I almost forgot! Congratulations Rob and Megan on your new little angel! Addison Rylee is finally here and is absolutely gorgeous! I am so excited for you guys, and I hope you are getting some sleep. ;)
