Surprise!

I threw a surprise party for Scott for his birthday, and it turned out perfect! We went to Kyoto's in Scottsdale for sushi and teppan yaki, and when we got there, the guys from his fire station and their wives were there. He had no clue, and I was so glad that everyone could keep it a secret. We hung out there for a couple of hours and then walked down to Dos Gringos. We just laughed and laughed all night long, it was so much fun. Scott really needed a night to hang out with the guys and just have a good time. Before dinner, Scott and I went and saw The Dark Knight- it was so good! Heath Ledger was amazing in that movie, such a tragedy. You have to see that movie!

Let's Party!

Today Macey and Heidi had an End of Summer party and had their friends over to play on the waterslide and have girl time. It was so cute seeing all of those little girls interacting with each other! Scott got on the waterslide and played freeze tag with them for over an hour. They had such a good time, it was a great way to end summer vacation.

I am also getting the finishing touches done on Ryan and Jenna's 1st birthday party. It is going to be a prince/princess party, and we had these invitations made:

My friend Megan has an online boutique, and she is making the twins custom prince and princess shirts for their party. I am so excited! Her boutique is www.prettyinpinkbabyboutique.com. She has some seriously adorable items on there, you should all check it out! We are having a lot of family come into town for the party, so we are going to have a photography come we will take pictures of everyone before the party. It is going to be amazing!

School is going so well. I aced my cleansing facial evaluation, and I learned the next phase of the facial treatment- massage! Scott has been so kind to sacrifice some of his time so that I can practice on him. ;) I am so in love with what I am doing, I really feel like this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I will have the opportunity to help so many people and provide an incredibly relaxing and healthy service. I never would have thought that I would like giving facials almost more than I like getting them!

And another piece of exciting news: I am going to be an aunt again! My little sister Lisa and her husband Rich are expecting their 2nd baby. I am so excited to have another tiny little cupcake around!

Tomorrow is Scott's 30th birthday, and I can't say yet what we are doing because it is a surprise for him, but I will definitely post pictures within the next couple days. I can't wait!

American Girl Dolls

Macey and Heidi have absolutely fallen in love with American Girl dolls. I got my Samantha doll out for them to play with, and they have been obsessed with her. Macey decided that she wanted one of her own, so she has been saving her money like crazy. She has been doing chores around the house for money, and even pulled a tooth out so the Tooth Fairy would give her more money! Well, she finally saved $105 and bought her very own American Girls doll. She bought Emily, and it arrived in the mail today. We knew by tracking the package that it was going to be here today, so she literally hung out by the front window for about 4 hours waiting for the UPS truck! When it pulled up, I thought she was going to lose her mind! I love having little girls to share things with that I was really into when I was little. Heidi is saving for Mia, so hopefully she can get her soon.

"Mini" Facials

Macey and Heidi were kind enough to let me practice my new skills on them. We put the twins down for a nap and turned some relaxing music on, and the girls both thoroughly enjoyed it. Heidi said that is was "the best thing she had ever had"! Their little faces are so tiny and soft! I think I had more fun than they did.

Another Loss

I just recieved the horrible news that my Uncle Jim was killed in a helicopter crash this morning in Arkansas. Please keep my Aunt Tina and their kids and grandkids in your prayers. I am so sad. :(

"Summer" Fun

We got to see me older sister Summer this weekend, and as usual it was amazing. I love that woman! The kids all love her too. The twins kept grinning at her and climbing on her, and when she picked up Heidi to hug her when she first got here Heidi said, "You know I missed you?" Macey was cracking up at her the whole time she was here, Macey has a little special connection with Summer. We are excited to see her boys Joseph and Jayden and her fiancee Alexis when they come out for the twins 1st birthday in August!

Mmmmmmm, Smores. We were saving some for later.

At gymnastics on Saturday, the girls got to meet Jason Gatson, who was an Olympic silver medalist in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. It was so neat for them to meet him, and Jason and I went to school together, so they thought it was pretty cool that their mom was friends with a man who had been in the Olympics. He trained at the gym we go to, so he was stopping by to motivate and inspire the younger gymnasts. The girls got his autograph and a picture with him, and they were thinking that they were pretty cool for the rest of the day.

School is still going great! I gave a 2 hour facial last week, and it was just as fun giving one as it is receiving one! This is the perfect career for me, I just love it.
I cannot believe that in less than a month Ryan and Jenna are going to be one. Seriously, where has the time gone? And Scott turns the big 3-0 in a couple of weeks, too. Before we know it, the twins will be turning 30!

I Am a Rainbow

I walked into the kitchen today to find that Macey and Heidi had pulled tons of food out of the fridge and pantry and mixed it all together in several large bowls. I was obviously unhappy and I gave them the speech on how we don't waste food, and then I made them clean it all up. A while later they came to me with some "presents" that they had wrapped in wrapping paper (toys and stuff from around the house) and a card. The card said, "We love you and we wont waste your food. You are like a rainbow that just began. Love, Macey and Heidi".

I love school!

I cannot believe how much fun I am having at school! It is everything I expected and more. I am so excited to go every night and see what we will learn that day. I am learning the most interesting things, and my instructor is so insanely knowledgeable, I don't think there is anything she doesn't know. I never realized how much everything about our bodies affects our skin. For example, I can tell you which ovary you have ovulated from by where your breakouts are located. And I can tell you where your conditions of acne will show up if you are having any respiratory or digestive problems. I am so happy that I will be able to help my kids when they are going through acne conditions as teenagers.

I am working hard to achieve my goal of being #1 in my class. I aced my first test yesterday on the anatomy and physiology of the skin, and I was also appointed team leader in my class. My instructor oversees my class and another class that is getting ready to graduate. That other class is on the treatment floor all the time performing services, so she has to spend a lot of time with them. When we are going to learn a new skill, she will teach the team leader how to do it, and then the team leader teaches the rest of the class while the instructor is supervising the other class. It is a lot of responsibilty, but it will help me learn better and it will show them that I am motivated and willing to be a responsible leader.

Last night was Christmas in July! We got our kits, and we were all so giddy. We inventoried all of our equipment and product, and we got tons of Dermalogica product to bring home and play with. I had a blast last night when I got home! I am already thinking about what products I want to use of specific people. I wish all of you lived close so that we could have big skin care parties!

The only problem with school is that it makes me never want to let my kids go outside into the sun! I am sure that I will be spending so much money on sunscreen now, especially in the Arizona summers. And to think that I used to own a tanning salon!!!

Scott's 30th birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I am going to take him to a really nice resort in Scottsdale for the weekend. It will be nice to get away with him and relax by the pool. He is such an awesome guy, I still can't believe sometimes how lucky I am. How many men would work 9 hours a day, and then come home so his wife can leave to go to school just for fun, and put four kids in bed, do the dishes, clean up the house, and then wait up for her to hear about how her night went? He is amazing. I am so blessed, my life is awesome!

4th of July

We had a great time up in Pinetop for the 4th of July! The weather was awesome, in the 80's with occasional rain, and even a pretty good hail storm. I love the rain, and the girls love running around in it. Several of Scott's aunts, uncle, and cousins were there as well, and it was really good to see them. They showered the kids with love and attention, and the girls had so much fun with Scott's cousin Leah. We went to the annual 4th of July parade in the morning, where the girls scored tons of candy, and then had a BBQ with the whole family in the afternoon. That night we went to the football field for the fireworks, and they were amazing! All 4 of the kids loved them, and the twins didn't get scared at all. The rest of the weekend we just hung out, went to the park and fed the ducks, and of course watched the UFC fights on Saturday night. And what would a road trip be without a good old fashioned speeding ticket?! We got caught on our way up the mountain, and I was kind-of insulted that the cop gave us a ticket because he is the father of boy/girl twins as well, and there is a certain courtesy that should have been shown! Not really, but it would have been nice to get off with just a warning.

As fun as it is to get away, it is always nice to get back home and back into a routine. I have another exciting week at school and then my big sister Summer is coming this weekend. It will be so fun to see her! I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July!

Pinetop

We are heading up to Pinetop tomorrow to Scott's mom's house for the Fourth of July, and I cannot wait to get out of this heat! It is so hot, it is just ridiculous. It will be an awesome weekend. We will go to the annual Fourth of July parade and then we will see the fireworks that night at the high school. The rest of the time we will relax with family, and maybe do a little bit of fishing. It will be Ryan and Jenna's first real trip, and I am really hoping that they have fun. They are so good that I am not worried about the car ride.

Now for the good stuff, PICTURES!

Macey and Heidi got ahold of my camera the other day and took some funny pics, including this one:
